A high conversion rate is a difference between success and failure for your business.
If you are looking at ways to increase conversions on your website, you need to consider a number of important things. It’s not just about having good content or getting people to visit your site, it’s about converting visitors into customers and through them increase your capital.
How much money do you want to make?
That is the question that many business owners ask themselves when they are deciding what to do with their website.
If the answer is “a lot,” you should focus on conversion rate optimization strategies.
Many businesses spend time trying to increase traffic to their website and fail to improve the conversion rate once they get there. This is a huge mistake. These are the steps that will help increase your conversion rates and generate more revenue for your business!
This blog post talks about critical SEO considerations when optimizing your websites, building evergreen content into your approach, and making sure that the right content shows up in Google search results.
When Should You Optimize Your Website For SEO?
It’s a question that many business owners have asked themselves. The answer is, “as soon as possible!” Optimizing your website for SEO will help it rank higher in search engines like Google.
This happens because search engines place more weight on websites with high-quality content that are optimized well. So, what does this mean for you, the business owner?
It means that by optimizing your site for SEO, you are increasing its chances of showing up on the first page of Google search results and generating more traffic to your site.
However, go over critical considerations when optimizing your website and strategies to implement these optimizations into an evergreen approach (one where there is a continuous flow of changes and updates).
We will cover the following for critical SEO considerations when optimizing your websites, make sure your content shows up in google search results.
Build Evergreen Content Into Your Approach:
Post a blog that covers many essential SEO considerations and strategies that every business owner should implement when optimizing their websites for search engines like Google. Make sure to keep these critical elements in mind as you continue writing content!
People love images, and they’re great for making things more engaging, so don’t be afraid to use them! It’s best that you create custom graphics instead of just uploading stock photos from Google Images, though (try Canva). You can also check our previous blog post about how our social media marketers build up our visual content strategy if this interests you too!
One thing more, if you have a lot of images on your site, make sure to optimize them for speed and SEO purposes. The best way is to compress the image before uploading it onto your website (avoiding loss in quality) or use online compression tools like Kraken.io, Tiny PNG, or Compressor Rater, which will automatically do this process for you. You can also add ALT attributes to all your images with keywords related to what they are showing (e.g. “red apple” instead of “Photo”)
Use Proper CTAs Throughout Content:
Your CTA should be placed within different sections/pages of the blog where there’s relevant content surrounding it, so people would want to click it (“Get started” button on top of the article).
Change CTA Text From “Submit”:
Instead, try using “start now”, “download”, etc. It might be something small, but it does have an impact on conversions. Use wording that relates best with what you’re offering/selling. Also, do not forget to include “free” in your CTA.
Optimize For Speed:
Another reason why people don’t click CTAs or perform any action is that they think that it will take them longer to get where they want (especially if your site’s too slow) so make sure to use a fast-loading theme. You can also check our previous blog post about improving website performance and usability in order to learn more tips!
Use More Videos:
Videos are becoming a stronger trend in the marketing world, and they’re great for making any kind of product look better, but you got to make sure that your video’s quality is good enough. You can use free services like Animoto or Powtoon if you don’t want to spend money on this!
There’s also Wistia which comes with advanced options and analytics (and it has an unlimited number of viewers, so no worries about running out). If there’s someone at your organization who knows how to do basic editing, then get them involved too!
Create Email Lists:
That way, when people decide they want to join/subscribe even after leaving your website, they’ll be able to easily do so. Just have an opt-in form somewhere on your website and use a service like MailChimp or Aweber to send the emails where you can also place custom welcome messages for new subscribers (which includes giving them some extra goodies).
Add A Free E-book Download:
According to Marketing Sherpa, 37% of B to B marketers use content upgrades or giveaways. You can do this by converting your best blog posts into PDFs and then adding them as downloadable resources/giveaways on the bottom part of that post (or in between if you want).
However, it’s important that when people click it, they’ll be taken directly to the file instead of just an opt-in form! If you’re not sure how to go about doing this, check out our previous blog post, where we explain more about CTAs & conversions here!
Share Your Content On Social Media:
Don’t be afraid to share the blog posts you create more than once because people might have missed it the first time around or want to see some related articles. You can use Buffer, Hootsuite or Meet Edgar if you don’t know how to go about sharing across different platforms!
Also, consider using relevant hashtags so that people who are looking for similar topics will also catch a glimpse of what you’re offering/selling (and hopefully click).
Create Landing Pages Instead Of Just Writing Full Page Copy:
According to Smart Insights, 62% of marketers agree that conversion rates increase with well-designed landing pages. It’s best to connect these pages to an opt-in form (which you can use Lead pages for).
That way, people who are ready to sign up/subscribe will be able to do so without having to go through too many hoops. It’s best if your landing pages also have good design and copy because that’ll make the whole experience better!
Use A/B Testing:
Just like landing pages, there’s no harm in trying out different kinds of CTA buttons on your website just by creating separate versions, which you then test on a smaller subset of users before rolling it live or not. You can check this blog post about how we increased our user engagement rate using AB tests here!
So Finally, We Have Reached on Final Words:
Increase conversions on CTAs & Make Sure People Don’t Bounce on Your Page.
Create more engaging content with the use of videos, images and other multimedia to keep your audience hooked.
Use a lead magnet or downloadable resource to collect contact information and offer something of value for those who are interested.
Get creative with your landing page designs and CTA buttons/forms as this could make the difference between converting more visitors into leads or having them leave without filling out any forms!
